The Center on International Cooperation (CIC) at New York University is pleased to share our Annual Report 2021-2022, which covers the activities and achievements of CIC and the Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies from October 2021 through September 2022, in support of our mission to strengthen cooperative approaches among national governments, international organizations, and the wider policy community—to prevent crises and to advance peace, justice, and inclusion.
This past year at CIC has seen continual challenges dealing with the socio-economic ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic on our societies globally, in addition to the growing divide between Western countries focused on the war in Ukraine and other countries confronted with multiple crises. Through all this, we have maintained our core long-term mission of crisis prevention and the promotion of peace, justice, equality, and inclusion, while addressing the implications of this new crisis.
We have been delighted to resume an intensive program of in-person engagements with governments in country, multilateral and civil society partners. From deepening analysis from our team on issues related to divisions and unity, and bringing attention to forgotten crises around the world, to prioritizing cross-regional initiatives that engage at the country-level, CIC is committed to illuminating the links between politics, security, justice, humanitarian responses, and sustainable development that can contribute both short- and medium-term solutions in our very volatile global environment.
