WIDER Development Conference: The world at crossroads – securing the future generations

The Conference will harness research and evidence to address the three most pressing development challenges of our times: enabling a just energy transition, reducing inequalities across and within countries, and building sustainable peace in conflict-affected states. It will bring together participants from around the world to discuss how academia, policy, and practice can tackle these mega-challenges and secure the wellbeing and safety of future generations.

The Development Outlook in Asia: Opportunities, Challenges, and Risks

Asian Development Bank (ADB) Chief Economist Albert Park will discuss key findings from the recently-released Asian Development Outlook (ADO) April 2023. The ADO provides a comprehensive analysis of economic development in Asia and the Pacific. Dr. Park will highlight current challenges and risks to development outlooks in the region, including Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and global financial conditions.
