Hali Shotz is a graduate research assistant in the Prevention, Peacebuilding, and Protracted Crises program at New York University’s Center on International Cooperation (CIC).
She is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Global Affairs at NYU, concentrating on peacebuilding and specializing in the United Nations. She brings prior experience in Middle East peacebuilding, with a particular focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Before joining NYU, Hali earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where she worked as a research assistant for Dr. Amelia Weinreb and interned with the Parents Circle Families Forum, an Israeli-Palestinian peacebuilding organization. Her dual major in human geography and cultural anthropology, along with minors in history and Jewish studies, have fueled her passion for geography and belief in the power of maps.
She is interested in environmental peacebuilding and aims to integrate this focus into her future work.
