Abbas Luyombo, a 27-year-old Ugandan with visual impairment, is a self-driven Lawyer and Young Justice Leader with a passion for climate justice, human rights, and gender equality. Holding a LLB from Makerere University, he is committed to legal research, policy advocacy, movement building, and championing vulnerable communities’ rights. Certified in Law and Development and Leadership from esteemed institutions like A4ID UK and Oxford University, he advocates for internet freedom and responsible business practices. He has contributed significantly to legal advocacy, serving as a Clinical Fellow at Makerere University Public Interest Law Clinic, supporting diversity initiatives at UNILEVER KENYA LTD, and orchestrating pan-African justice partnerships as a pro bono projects coordinator at DLA Piper Africa. His volunteer work with NETPIL Uganda and Makerere University Disability Law Rights Centre underscores his commitment to legal aid and policy advocacy for vulnerable communities and civil and political rights. He also dedicates himself to community service, notably at Mastercard Foundation Alumni at BRAC Uganda, promoting legal compliance and advocating for women’s and children’s rights. With a vision aligned with Young Justice Leaders, he aims to create an inclusive world where every voice is heard, and every right defended, advancing SDG 16.
