The government of Sierra Leone, in partnership with the 16+ ForumGlobal Alliance on Reporting on Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies, and Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies, will host a series of international events this week that bring together representatives from more than 40 countries to accelerate the delivery of peaceful, just and inclusive societies—a core component of Sustainable Development Goal 16 and its related goals (SDG16+)—in the lead up to the United Nations High-level Political Forum in 2019 (HLPF).

Stand Up for SDG16+: Accelerating Progress on SDG 16+ is a high-level side event to the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly. In the same spirit of the joint 2018 HLPF launch, this side event will continue to shine a spotlight on SDG 16+ and build momentum to support the achievement of SDG 16+  as an end goal itself and as an enabler for other SDGs. The side event will provide a platform for member states, private sector, civil society, and youth to highlight how they are supporting the achievement of SDG 16+.
