The first annual Peacebuilding Week in June 2026, mandated by the 2025 General Assembly and Security Council resolutions on the Peacebuilding Architecture Review (PBAR), coincides with the 20th anniversary of the inaugural session of the United Nations (UN) Peacebuilding Commission in June 2006 and the inception that year of the Secretary-General’s Peacebuilding Fund.
