Michael Higgins is a Senior Program Officer at the New York University’s Center on International Cooperation and Program Director for the Pathfinders Grand Challenge on Inequality and Exclusion.
Michael has extensive experience in the area of international relations, political communications, international development, and human rights. He holds a Master’s degrees in international law, international relations and medieval studies. He served as an advisor and delegate for the Irish Permanent Mission to the UN on climate, development, and human rights (2017-19). He previously worked for Independent Diplomat as a political and diplomatic advisor in the Horn of Africa (2015-17), and worked for Ireland’s International development agency, Irish Aid, in Ethiopia (2009-11). He has also worked on successful political campaigns in Ireland, as well as working for a number of years with non-profit organizations, especially in the human rights field.
