Salman Usmani is an Atlantic Fellow for Social and Economic Equity (AFSEE) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Visiting Fellow at NYU’s Center on International Cooperation (CIC) through a partnership between CIC and LSE.
An advocacy and communications leader with more than 15 years of experience, he specializes in shaping high-stakes public narratives across international and multilateral contexts.
He is the co-founder of Future of Information, a public-interest technology initiative building tools for information integrity and democratic participation. His work includes leading The Equity Review at the Atlantic Institute, an open-access publication with Oxford University Press, briefing parliamentarians on digital democracy and freedom of expression, and advising senior leaders on engagement and communications.
Previously, he led editorial projects at Article 14 and founded a global communications and advocacy firm, which he ran for five years, delivering campaigns for United Nations agencies, governments, and international foundations.
A Senior Atlantic Fellow and SOAS-Bard Democracy Fellow, he holds a Master of Science in Inequalities and Social Science from LSE and has completed training in systems thinking at the University of Oxford.
