Lucia Makamure is an Atlantic Fellow for Social and Economic Equity (AFSEE) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Visiting Fellow at NYU’s Center on International Cooperation (CIC), as part of a partnership between CIC and LSE.
A Zimbabwean gender justice activist and researcher based in South Africa, she works with International Development Economics Associates (IDEAs), a global network of progressive economists engaged in research, teaching, and critical analysis of economic policy and development. Her work focuses on advancing gender justice and equitable economic policy.
She is a Commonwealth Scholar and holds a master’s degree in Public Policy and Management from the University of York, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Social and Economic Equity from LSE.
