Goals in a Post-2015 Development Framework
During the January 2013 meeting of the High Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda in Liberia, CIC released an options brief by Senior Fellow David Steven on the role that global goals can play in a new development framework.
• Explores what different types of development goals can (and cannot) achieve.
• Sets out options for integrating poverty and sustainable development goals.
• Clarifies the choices that must be made if the post-2015 development agenda is to end poverty within a generation.
The brief is not prescriptive and does not advocate any one option. Instead, CIC aims to build a more informed debate between UN member states, so that all countries understand the decisions that they must make in the run-up to 2015.
This work forms part of CIC's broader engagement with member states, both in New York and in capitals; with the UN system; and with the High Level Panel. It is one of a series of publications on post-2015 that can be found here.
