Shavon Bell

Program Assistant

Shavon Bell is a Program Assistant at CIC working across the Peace and Security and Humanitarian Crises programs.

Shavon joins CIC most recently from the Permanent Mission of Panamá to the United Nations (UN). In her year at the mission, she primarily covered the social, humanitarian, and cultural issues of the UN’s Third Committee, conducting research, writing briefings, attending meetings, and writing speeches for the Panamanian ambassador and delegates.

Prior to her time at the Mission of Panamá, Shavon earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History of Art and Architecture from Brown University, where she was able to conduct coursework on topics such as the Latin American region, the welfare state, and international development. While at Brown, Shavon also founded an organization centered on women’s political participation, informed by both American and international contributors.

She is an alumna of Hunter College High School in New York.
