Jeffrey Gettleman


Jeffrey Gettleman has been the East Africa bureau chief for The New York Times for more than a decade. He won a Pulitzer Prize in 2012 for international reporting, among other awards. His work has appeared in National Geographic, GQ, Foreign Policy and The New York Review of Books. He studied philosophy at Cornell University before winning a Marshall Scholarship to study at Oxford. He lives with his wife and their two sons in Nairobi, Kenya.
