Emma Bjertén GüntherVisiting Scholar
Emma Bjertén-Günther is a Researcher in the Peace and Development Programme at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) and a visiting scholar at CIC. Applying an intersectional and gender perspective, Emma’s current research investigates the implementation of UNSCR 1325 and the broader Women, Peace and Security Agenda with a focus on women’s participation, masculine norms and inclusive peace processes. She is also working in a project on existing institutional challenges in addressing the climate change-gender-security nexus.
Prior to joining SIPRI, Emma worked on gender mainstreaming and organizational change within the Swedish Central Administration. Emma holds a masters degree in Politics and International Relations from Uppsala University with a specialization in Peace and Conflict Studies.
