Johan Eldebo

Visiting Scholar

Johan Eldebo is Visiting Scholar at the NYU Center on International Cooperation and Senior Humanitarian Policy Adviser for World Vision UK.

His research interests include decision-making in humanitarian assistance, conflict-sensitivity and context analysis. He has been invited to speak as guest lecturer at universities in the UK and in the US and is a frequent commentator on humanitarian crises in the news media.

During his career Johan’s experience has included emergency responses in the Sahel, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi, South Sudan, Lebanon and Afghanistan. He is a lead facilitator of the participatory context analysis tool Making Sense of Turbulent Contexts (MSTC) and a co-creator of the rapid context analysis tool Good Enough Context Analysis for Rapid Responses (GECARR). He holds degrees from North Park University in Chicago and from King’s College London in the UK.
